Adjusting Line and Paragraph Spacing

Like all word processing and typesetting programs, Word spaces lines of text far enough apart so that lines don't crash into each other. If something large is on the line, such as a graphic or an oversized character or word, Word leaves extra space.

You're not limited to using Word automatic spacing, however. You can add extra space between lines and paragraphs.
