Changing Fonts

A font is a typeface style; all letters, punctuation, and other text characters of a given font have the same appearance. Three basic types of fonts exist:serif, with strokes at the ends of letters;sans serif, with no strokes; andspecialty, such as symbols and script fonts.

Common fonts include Times Roman, a serif font; Helvetica, a sans serif font; and Zapf Chancery, a script font. These and other fonts are shown in Figure 9.6.
