Chapter 27. Drawing with Word's Drawing ... > Understanding the Freehand Drawing T...

Understanding the Freehand Drawing Tools

All of the shapes available with AutoShapes are designed to save you time, but sometimes there's no alternative but to create the shapes in a drawing from scratch. For example, you may need shapes that are highly irregular. The Lines category provides three tools to enable you to create your own freehand drawings. There are the Curve, the FreeForm, and the Scribble tools.

Creating a Freehand Shape

The Curve tool enables you to click a beginning point for the curve and then move and click where you want the next point of the curve. You can add as many points as you want. When you have as many points as needed, double-click to end the line. Word will construct a curve using those points.
