Using the Placement Tools

If you are creating more than one shape to create your drawing, you will likely be moving objects around in the document. There are several drawing features that will make this task much easier. There is an invisible grid to help you line up shapes. You also have two new features. You can now align a group of shapes, as well as distribute them across the page to create even white space in between them.

Using the Grid

As you draw objects, Word can help you place them precisely, using an invisible grid. When you turn on Word's Snap to Grid feature, your objects will attach themselves to the nearest intersection of grid lines. Moreover, you can specify exactly how coarse or fine to make the grid.
