Editing Tables

After you create and fill your table, you probably will have to make changes to the table. You might need to move or copy cells, or insert new cells, rows, or columns to make room for additional text or graphics. Often you must adjust row heights and column widths. In the following sections, you learn how to perform all these tasks.

You can edit the contents within a cell using the same techniques that you use to edit text or graphics in a document. You can delete characters using the Backspace and Delete keys, and move around in the text using the mouse or the arrow keys. To edit the cells, rows, and columns in a table, you use different techniques, which the following sections describe.
