Chapter 34. Assembling Large Documents > Working with Subdocuments Within the M...

Working with Subdocuments Within the Master Document

You can work with subdocuments in the Master Document view of a master document. You can open a subdocument from within a master document if you need to edit the subdocument. You can also rearrange the order of subdocuments, and merge, split, or remove subdocuments.

Opening Subdocuments from Within a Master Document

You can quickly open a subdocument when you are in Master Document view. This is handy if you need to edit the subdocument. To open a subdocument, open the master document, switch to Master Document view, and double-click the subdocument icon for the subdocument you want to open. If you make any editing changes in the subdocument, be sure to save it. When you do, the changes are saved in both the subdocument and the master document.
