Setting Tabs and Margins

PowerPoint's tab and margin settings give you some control over the way text aligns within a slide. Setting tabs, of course, controls the size of the indent when you start a new section or paragraph of text. You can also use tabs to set up columns, which is after an effective way to present information.

Using the Ruler

Tabs and margins are set with the ruler, which you can see if you choose View, Ruler. The ruler is actually two rulers, one that appears below the toolbar across the top of window, and another that appears on the left side of the screen (see Figure 3.19).
