Adding Text to Your Slides

There are a variety of ways to add text messages to your PowerPoint presentation. The following sections describe how to enter the text content of your slides and how to edit the text when necessary.

Entering Text in a Placeholder

One method of entering slide text involves replacing the sample text in a slide placeholder with your own text. The slide shown in Figure 3.1 includes two placeholders for text—one that contains a simple title and one that contains a bulleted list. The third placeholder is for clip art. A faint, dotted line appears around each placeholder.
