Putting Together a Typical Presentation in PowerPoint

As a way of summarizing what you've learned in this chapter and showing you how you can put it to use, I'd like to show you how I go about putting together a typical presentation in PowerPoint. After having produced thousands of PowerPoint slides and hundreds of presentations, this is the method that gets the job done fastest and with the least wasted motion…for me. Feel free to adapt it to your own work habits and needs.

The general rule is to start at the "lowest layer" of the presentation and do as much of the text entry and formatting there as possible; the text entry is done in Outline view, and the formatting in Slide Master view:
