Part II: Using Text in Presentations > Working with Outline View

Chapter 4. Working with Outline View

by Dorothy Burke

  • Create your presentation in Outline view

You encounter the "landscape" of Outline view and prepare to build your presentation there.

  • Set slide titles and bullet text

When entering text into the outline, you need to distinguish which lines are slide titles and which are bullet paragraphs. Discover the techniques that make this easy for you.

  • Import text from other sources into the outline

If you've already created the outline text elsewhere (such as in your word processing package), you can either import it or copy it through the Clipboard. Then you can organize it and separate it into slide titles and bullets.

  • Organize and refine existing presentations

Outline view gives you the ideal tools to edit and reorganize the presentation.

  • Print the outline

Use the printed copy of your outline to get approval on the presentation from your supervisor or to keep on track during the presentation. Learn how to print it out and how to export it for printing in Word.
