Chapter 23. Linking to Other Applications > Linking to Your Favorite Places

Linking to Your Favorite Places

There is yet another very handy linking feature to this version of PowerPoint. You might find very helpful in working on Web pages or even in presentations that want to exist in a very fluid and unpredictable environment. This type of link is directly lifted from the experience that is common to the Internet experience. That is Favorite Places. While the Internet can be sometimes compared to a wild connection of tangled fish lines, there is a feature that the browsers offer that helps keep users from getting entirely lost.

The concept of Favorite Places is not the same as the Most Recent File list common to software programs. It is an entirely customizable personal list of just that—favorite places I like to visit. It's very much like the Speed Dial feature on telephones. There is no retyping long URL names. Just go back to your Speed Dial key and get automatically reconnected.
