Chapter 11. Formatting a Chart > Using Borders, Patterns, and Fills

Using Borders, Patterns, and Fills

Besides fonts, the other most common formatting option you'll see, no matter which Chart Object you've selected, is Patterns. Clicking the Patterns tab, which has already come up twice this chapter, opens up several new formatting possibilities. By using the additional tabs available under Patterns, you can set off various elements with plain or fancy borders and fill the entire chart area, the chart walls and floor, or the data series displays with patterns, gradients, pictures, or any color you want.

These colorful options can take your slide from mundane to beautiful, if you use them wisely.
