Chapter 6. Creating Drawing Objects > Working with Drawing Objects

Working with Drawing Objects

Once you have created a drawing object, you aren't stuck with the shape that appears. PowerPoint offers a great deal of flexibility in moving, resizing, reshaping, and repositioning drawing objects. To do any of these actions, however, you first have to select an object.

Selecting Objects

You've already selected text objects such as text placeholders in previous chapters. When you selected those objects by clicking them, a dashed gray line and eight handles appeared and the text was available for editing. You also select a drawing object by clicking it. Although no line surrounds a drawing object when selected, the same eight handles do appear forming the selection rectangle. These are called sizing handles and you'll see how they're used to change the size or shape of your object shortly.
