Adding a Background in PowerPoint

Once the organization chart is embedded in PowerPoint, some special tools are available for customizing the appearance of the slide. In particular, you can add background colors, patterns, and even bitmapped pictures behind the chart. To modify the slide's background, save your chart and return to PowerPoint. Then do this:

  1. Single-click the chart to select it.

  2. In the Picture toolbar, click the icon labeled Format Object (see Figure 13.25).

  3. The Colors and Lines tab should be on top. In the Fill section, click the Color drop-down menu (see Figure 13.26).

  4. Select a color. Click OK.
