Customizing Data in Presentations

A host of opportunities enable you to customize data in presentations. I have seen requests to hide all customer names in a chart except for the name of the particular customer being presented. There are also situations where the names of customers will vary by market—for example, when presenting to a retailer. A frequent request is for the ability to create a presentation that can be instantly switched into a different language.

Customizing Names to Hide in Charts

The ability of Excel to manipulate data is frequently a key to customizing the data in a presentation. If you want to hide all the customer names except the name of your particular audience's company, you can do that in an easy step if you prepare your tables and charts correctly in the first place. Figure 26.1 shows a worksheet in Excel with a list of customer names from Customer1 to Customer4.
