Chapter 9. Adding Animation and Sound > A Word About Animation

A Word About Animation

This version of PowerPoint features four principal kinds of animation effects:

  • Action Objects. Regions of the screen which perform some kind of action. This is a completely new feature and is the focus of this chapter.

  • Animation Effects. Motion effects that cause screen objects like buttons, text, and clip art to move on and off the screen. These effects are discussed in this chapter as well.

  • Transitions. Effects to text and slides that occur on cue, such as when going to a new slide. This is discussed in Chapter 15.

  • Video Clips. Played within a PowerPoint slide on cue. This is discussed in Chapter 23.
