Understanding the HTML Behind a Web Page

Web pages are written in the HyperText Markup Language (HTML). HTML is made up of elements; each element contains a tag defining what kind of element it is. Most elements also contain text that defines what the element represents. In Figure 13.19, the sample HTML page as displayed by the Internet Explorer is shown at the top; the same page shown as HTML code is shown at the bottom.
