Specifying the Source Data

The example presented in Figures 27.7 through 27.15 glosses over some options in Step 1 of the PivotTable Wizard, but it is now time to come back to that step. In addition to a list or table in an Excel worksheet, you can use data created in other programs as a source for pivot tables. You can also use multiple lists from one or more Excel worksheets.

Using a List or Database in the Workbook

To create a pivot table from an existing list in the current Excel workbook, select the Microsoft Excel List or Database option in the first PivotTable Wizard dialog box, if it is not already selected.
