Working with Pivot Tables

Most Excel lists look like the one shown in Figure 27.1. These lists contain rows of information arranged in columns that hold a specific type of information. The list in Figure 27.1, for example, contains information about the sales of various products for a tool company. The data is primarily organized by product line.

Figure 27.1. Excel can accumulate large amounts of tabular data, but looking at the data in this detailed format makes it difficult to analyze.
