Inserting Text

When you create a chart, Excel automatically includes labels along the category and value axes if, when you select your data, you include cells containing labels. Depending on how you select your data and what choices you make if you use the Chart Wizard to create your chart, you may also have labels for the legend and the title. You probably want to add other text to your charts—for example, a title and text annotations—to help clarify the data being presented. In this section, you learn how to add text associated with specific objects in the chart, as well as "free-floating" text.
