Chapter 10. Managing Files > Searching for Files

Searching for Files

If you can't find the file you want by browsing through the drives and folders, you can use the Find Now button in the Open dialog box. Excel offers powerful search capabilities that enable you to search for files by file name, location, author, and the date the files were created or last saved. Alternatively, you can use the information you entered in the Properties dialog box (refer to "Saving with File Properties to Make Workbooks Easier to Find," earlier in this chapter). You also can search for specific text that occurs in a workbook.
