Chapter 5. Formatting Worksheets > Changing the Standard Font

Changing the Standard Font

There are two different reasons you may want to change how Excel opens new work-sheets and workbooks. The most common reason for wanting to modify a new workbook or worksheet is to change the standard font, Normal style, used in unformatted cells. The second reason is that you may want new workbooks or worksheets that already contain titles, text, data, formulas, and formats. These templates also can contain formatting styles that you create, as well as macros or Visual Basic modules to automate work. If you are interested in learning how to create and use templates or styles, refer to Chapter 11, "Creating Templates and Controlling Excel's Startup."
