Protecting Sheets, Workbooks, and Shared Workbooks

If you develop Excel worksheets for use by inexperienced operators, if you create worksheets for sale, or if you work in the mistake-filled hours after midnight, you will find this section helpful. With Excel, you can protect cells, graphical objects, sheets, windows, and entire workbooks. If you need to protect confidential or proprietary information, you also can hide formulas so that they do not appear in the formula bar. And you can use a password to prevent unauthorized people from changing the protection status or the display of hidden information.
