Chapter 17. Formatting Charts > Changing Object Colors, Patterns, and Borders

Changing Object Colors, Patterns, and Borders

You can change the appearance of every object in a chart by using the formatting commands. For many objects, changing appearance consists of adding borders to the object and changing the fill pattern and color of the area around the object. You can add a shadowed border, for example, around a title and change the background color behind the title, or you can change the patterns and colors of the columns in a column chart. With the axes, you can change the appearance of the axis line and modify the tick marks.
