Chapter 10. Taking Notes in Outline Form > Viewing Outlines in Different Ways

Viewing Outlines in Different Ways

To make working on outlines easier, OneNote includes the Expand and Collapse menus on the Outlining toolbar. These menus make it possible to focus on one part of the outline without being distracted by the other parts. To focus on one part of the outline, you expand it while collapsing the parts of the outline you don’t need to see. The Expand and Collapse menus are invaluable when you are working on a long outline because they prevent you from needing to scroll up and down the screen. You can fit the whole outline on one screen by collapsing the majority of the outline and expanding the part you want to work with.
