Chapter 13. Sharing Notes with Co-Worker... > Uploading Documents to a Shared Work...

Uploading Documents to a Shared Workspace

If your company has an intranet Web server on which Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services has been installed, you can use the Shared Workspace task pane in OneNote (and other Microsoft Office 2003 applications as well) to collaborate with co-workers. You can share documents, keep multiple versions of documents, assign tasks to co-workers, and create lists of useful hyperlinks, all from within the Shared Workspace task pane or a SharePoint intranet Web site.

A typical shared workspace includes many files in its document library, the repository for shared files. In a shared workspace, several people can work on the same note at the same time in the same section. At The Garden Company, employees write notes in two shared workspaces, one where the notes pertain to improving the company’s products and services, and one where the notes pertain to employee issues. The shared workspace helps employees see others’ ideas and bounce ideas off their co-workers.
