Key Points

  • You can use rule lines and the Snap To Grid feature to arrange notes neatly on the page and make it easier to read and find notes.

  • You can move and copy note text to the Windows Clipboard, and then paste the text a new location. When you copy or move text, you can retain or change its formatting by clicking the Paste Options button and choosing an option on the drop-down menu.

  • You can tell OneNote how long to keep pages in the Deleted Pages folder, and you can recover pages from this folder. Pages (but not notes) that you delete go to the Deleted Pages folder.

  • You can rename and delete sections and folders by clicking the appropriate command on the File menu, or you can simply right-click a section tab or folder tab and click Rename or Delete on the shortcut menu.

  • You can move pages or sections by using commands on the File menu or by right-clicking a page or section tab and clicking the Move or Move Page To Command.

  • You can tell OneNote to make automatic backup copies of your OneNote data. You can also designate a folder for holding this data.
