Chapter 4. Creating Free-Form Notes and Drawings

Chapter 4. Creating Free-Form Notes and Drawings

Chapter 4 at a Glance

In this chapter you will learn to:
Create drawings.
Work with handwritten notes and drawing notes.
Modify drawings and the drawing page.
Highlight text and customize pens.

Some people would rather handwrite notes than type them; handwriting with a stylus seems to get their creative juices flowing. For some, handwriting is more comfortable than tapping on a keyboard. As computer technology becomes more efficient and capable of recognizing handwritten notes, more people will handwrite with their computers.

OneNote cannot recognize handwritten notes as text. (You need to run OneNote on a Tablet PC to do that, as Chapter 5 explains.) You can, however, draw and handwrite notes using many sophisticated tools. This chapter explains how to draw and handwrite notes in the OneNote window, as well as highlight important text in notes. You also learn to edit your drawings with the Eraser and change a drawing’s size and proportions. Finally, this chapter shows you how to change the color and size of the pens and highlighters you use to create drawings.
