Working with the Office Assistant

When you fired up Office XP for the first time, it’s likely that you were met by the antics of the Office Assistant, an animated guide eager to lead you through common procedures in the application program you started. The default assistant is Clippit, the paperclip. His blinking eyeballs and crooked smile (is that a smile?) are endearing, and his help is practical and direct.

When the Office Assistant is displayed on the screen, you begin the process of asking him a question by clicking his image. A pop-up box appears, asking what you would like to do. You can simply type your question (as shown in Figure 3-2) and click Search.
