Finding Help Online

One of the major improvements Office XP includes over its ancestors is the seamless way that Web access is built into the program. You may find yourself moving online and offline all day as you work with your Office applications, and this is true when you’re working with the Help system as well. You have a number of different ways to find help online while you’re working with Office Help:

  • You can open the Help menu and choose Office On The Web. This selection takes you to the Microsoft Office Assistance Center (as shown in Figure 3-9).

Figure 3-9. The Office Assistance Center offers product-specific support and lots of tips and ideas.

  • When you are working with the Answer Wizard, you can click Search On The Web to find out more about the topic that interests you.

  • When you see a Help topic beginning with the word Web: shown in the topic list of any of the Help features (Contents, Answer Wizard, or Index), click it to move online to an article related to your search topic.
