Chapter 15. Publishing Information on th... > Publishing a PivotTable on the Web

Publishing a PivotTable on the Web

When you publish an Excel workbook on the Web, you can allow users to interact with the worksheets. The preceding section of this chapter described how to let you and your colleagues interact with an Excel document over the Web. This section continues that theme by demonstrating how to export a PivotTable to the Web. If Catherine Turner, The Garden Company’s owner, were on vacation but wanted to participate in a meeting, she could still use her laptop to connect to the company’s Web site and use a PivotTable published there to view any updated information.

Once you have created a PivotTable, you can publish it on the Web by clicking any cell in the PivotTable and clicking Save as Web Page on the File menu to open the Save As dialog box. To publish just the worksheet with the PivotTable, select the Selection: Sheet option button, select the Add interactivity check box, and then click Publish to open the Publish as Web Page dialog box.
