Sharing a Data List

The first step in making a workbook available to your colleagues is to turn on workbook sharing. When you turn on workbook sharing, you let more than one user edit a workbook simultaneously, which is perfect for a fair-sized business such as The Garden Company, where employees need to look up customer, sales, and product data frequently.


To turn on workbook sharing, on the Tools menu, click Share Workbook. In the Share Workbook dialog box that appears, you turn on workbook sharing by selecting the Allow changes by more than one user at the same time check box. You can then set the sharing options for the active workbook by clicking the Advanced tab.
