We live in an age of teamwork. If you haven’t yet been assigned to a team—for creating next year’s annual report, for analyzing and reporting on health care options, for designing and writing the new employee handbook—you probably will be before too long. Until now, you may have managed your team projects by keeping a folder full of revised files, gathering all the charts and images and notes and sending them as e-mail attachments to teammates as needed. The risk of managing large projects this way is twofold: an older version of a file might inadvertently be used instead of the most current file; and files (and people) could easily be left out of the process.
