Chapter 23. Using Excel Data in Word and... > Using Excel Data in PowerPoint

Using Excel Data in PowerPoint

The default format for pasting tabular data from Excel into PowerPoint, like that for pasting into Word, is HTML. Like Word, PowerPoint renders this HTML in such a way as to recreate, as closely as it can, the appearance your data had on the Excel worksheet. Unlike Word, PowerPoint includes any graphic objects that were part of your selection when you copied from Excel to the Clipboard.

Unfortunately, like Word, PowerPoint sometimes falls well short of an adequate rendering. The table illustrated in Figure 23-12, for example, is unusable. (Note in particular the mangled logo and the misalignment of the TOTAL column.)
