Repositioning Chart Elements with the Mouse

You can move the chart title, axis titles, data labels, and legend by dragging them with the mouse. You can also use your mouse to explode a pie slice or doughnut bite. Note, in particular, that you can adjust the positions of individual data labels without moving an entire series of labels and that, although the Chart Wizard can create a legend in certain fixed positions, you're free to drag the legend anywhere, even into the middle of the chart itself.

To restore the default position of an object, drag it back to its original position. To re-create the default position more precisely, first delete the object, and then re-create it. For example, if you drag the legend onto the middle of a chart and then decide it really looked better in its original location, click the Legend tool on the Chart toolbar twice. The first click deletes the customized legend, and the second click re-creates a standard legend.
