72. About Transparency Flattening Preview

Transparency flattening is a process wherein Acrobat cuts apart partially transparent, overlapping objects to form discreet nonoverlapping objects. This flattening occurs whenever you print a document that contains such objects or save it to a format other than Adobe PDF 1.4 or higher (Acrobat 5.0 or later).
