Q&A

Q1:I have a table that takes up five pages and I want the first row, which contains labels, to repeat at the top of each page. How can I do this?
A1: Select the first row, and choose Table, Heading Rows Repeat.
Q2:I don't want to let some of the rows in my table break across page breaks. How do I prevent that from happening?
A2: Select the rows and then choose Table, Table Properties to display the Table Properties dialog box. Click the Row tab, and clear the Allow Row to Break Across Pages check box.
Q3:I have a list of products and their descriptions that is currently formatted in regular paragraphs, but I think it would look better as a table with the products listed on the left and their descriptions on the right. Can I convert the whole list into a table?
A3: Yes. You can convert regular text to a table, or vice versa. To convert text to a table, select the text and then choose Table, Convert, Text to Table. In the Convert Text to Table dialog box, specify the details of how you want the text to be converted, and click OK. (You will probably get better results if you remove blank lines from the text before performing the conversion.) To convert a table to text, click anywhere in the table and choose Table, Convert, Table to Text. In the Convert Table to Text dialog box, specify how you want the text that had been in individual table cells separated, and click OK.
