Letting Others Get Your Files

When your PowerPoint files are online, you can

  • Give your users access to the files through the same FTP process with a username and password (instead of uploading, they'll be downloading).

  • Create a link to the file in a Web page that takes the users directly to the file. If they're using Internet Explorer, they can actually open it in their browser in most cases. Otherwise, they can right-click on the link and select Download Target.

  • Send a direct link to the file to your users in an email message. For example, to link to the TEST.PPT file at http://www.painlesspc.com, the direct link is http://www.painlesspc.com/test.ppt.
