Searching for Linked Files

If a movie or other linked file cannot be located, try to use the Search tool under the Start menu. If you don't know the name, you can narrow the search by the file type. If it's a movie, look for a file with an .AVI or .MPG file extension. If it's another PowerPoint file, look for a PPT file.

Open Search from the Start menu.

Select Change the File Name or Key Words.

Type *.PPT for all PowerPoint files, as shown in Figure 19.5.

Click Search.

The PowerPoint files on the local drives are located in the Search panel.

Click the Details drop-down list to sort the files by date or size.
