Running Macros or Programs and Opening Objects

If you've created macros for your PowerPoint file, the Run Macros setting is available in the Action Settings dialog box. Such macros are coded sets of instructions (created by developers) that are a bit outside the scope of this book, although we'll cover simple macros for editing slides in Hour 24, “Expert Tips and Techniques.”

A program that you might run from the Action Settings dialog box would be Internet Explorer to surf the Web, or a set of coded instructions as an .EXE executable file created by a developer. (In general, you would be better served by hyperlinking to a file and opening the application automatically in that manner.)
