Inserting Movies

The good news about inserting movies is that the way they behave in PowerPoint is very similar to sound files. The only bad news is that they're harder to create, much larger than any other kind of file, and must be treated as linked files.

All movie files are linked and are not part of the PowerPoint file. If you move a movie file to another folder or have accessed it from a CD that is no longer loaded, the movie will not play. Many larger inserted sound files behave the same way, which is why you must test them.

Shorter (recorded) sound files, and those in the Clip Organizer or that came with Microsoft Windows will be imported directly into the PowerPoint file.
