Q1:I can't get anything out of my microphone. What should I do?
A1: Make sure that there's a sound icon on your taskbar (sound is enabled). Right-click the little speaker icon, open the Volume Control, and under Options, select Properties and then select Recording. Make sure that your microphone is selected for recording your voice. Make sure that the microphone is plugged into the right jack, and that all of your other audio cables are properly connected.
Q2:What happens if you record narration or add a sound file to a slide with a movie?
A2: Generally, a mess. Unless you have a very powerful system with lots of RAM and a great audio card, media files will interfere with each other. That's why it's best to minimize the automatic playback of sound and video, and control your elements with mouse clicks wherever possible.
