Using Connectors in a Flowchart

In the Diagram object, we discussed using the Org Chart as a flowchart for concepts and ideas. Now, let's create our own flowchart using the Flowchart AutoShapes along with Connectors:

1.
Select the Flowchart AutoShapes (shown in Figure 15.9).

2.
Select a flowchart shape (Process).

3.
Drag it out on the slide and add text (Prospect).

4.
Select another flowchart shape (Decision).

5.
Draw out the shape.

6.
Add text (Make Call).

Select a connector (directional arrow) as shown in Figure 15.10.

Figure 15.10. Using connectors enables you to move the shapes around the slide with the lines between them remaining glued. The Elbow Arrow connector can be used to circumvent other objects—its yellow diamond can be dragged to reposition one leg.


8.
Connect the node from the Process to the Decision.

9.
Move either shape and see the results.
