Troubleshooting Techniques

Ninety-nine percent of most computer problems can be corrected by rebooting, which can take an eternity in front of an audience. You should practice shutting down troublesome applications (using the Ctrl+Alt+Del keystroke combination) and tweak your presentation machine to have the minimum programs loading in StartUp or in the system tray.

Turning off virus scanners, sleep mode, and screensavers is also a good idea. And presenting with the right-click, Show shortcut (and not opening PowerPoint in the editor mode) conserves memory.
