Summary

It makes no sense to spend hours preparing a PowerPoint show and no time preparing the venue for your talk. In addition to practicing your slides and animation timings, you should anticipate the layout of the room or hall where you'll be presenting and know what to expect in terms of projectors, sound system, and support staff.

The day of the talk is potentially stressful, so have backups available on CD-ROM or even bring conventional overheads for your slides—just in case.
