Saving a Video File with Compression

Selecting a specific compression codec makes more sense if you create a finished movie in another video editor, such as Adobe Premiere. After you've set up your clips in the timeline and are ready to render the final version, you can select a video file type and your compression options. A timeline and multiple export options are very common in other popular video editors, such as Ulead's Media Studio.

In the Adobe Premiere Export Movie settings (see Figure 23.13), you can determine the resolution and video codec for the final movie.
