Chapter 20. Customizing Outlook > Removing Tools and Commands from Toolbars

Removing Tools and Commands from Toolbars

You can remove an item from a toolbar by dragging it off the toolbar while the Customize dialog box is onscreen. However, there's an easier way. You're about to learn a power-user technique that works throughout Office applications as the following steps show.

1.
Move the mouse pointer over a tool you want to remove. The tool will be recessed as if it were being pushed.

2.
Hold down the Alt key. Using the left mouse button, click and drag the tool away from all toolbars so that an X appears. Release the mouse button to complete the removal.
