Part 4. Using PowerPoint > Task 15 How to Reorganize Slides

Task 15 How to Reorganize Slides

Inevitably, you will need to rearrange the order of slides in your presentation. This is especially true after you have added new slides and deleted others. The easiest way to rearrange slides is in Slide Sorter view, where you can see all the slides at once. In Slide Sorter view, you easily can drag a slide from one location to another.

  1. Switch to Slide Sorter View

Click the Slide Sorter button located in the bottom-left corner of the PowerPoint window to switch to Slide Sorter view.

  2. Select the Slide to Move

Click to select the slide you want to move to a new location.

  3. Drag the Slide

Hold down the left mouse button and drag the slide to its new location in the presentation order. As you drag, a line appears to show where you're moving the slide.

  4. Release the Mouse Button

When the slide is positioned where you want it, release the mouse button. PowerPoint scoots the other slides over and places the moved slide in the new location.

  5. Scroll and Drag

Slide Sorter view only shows several slides at a time. If you want to move the selected slide beyond the slides in view, drag in the direction you want to go. The display scrolls in that direction.
