The Office XP Self-Repair Feature

Although it happens rarely, your Office installation can get damaged. Perhaps another program's installation overwrites one of the Office system files. If you start Access and Access does not behave in a normal manner, indicating that a system problem might have crept into your system, one of the first places to begin fixing the problem is in Office XP's Detect and Repair feature.

When you select Help, Detect and Repair from any Office application, the Detect and Repair dialog box in Figure 2.5 appears. The dialog box is designed to do these things:
