View Non-Outlook Data

Outlook is a versatile program as you are beginning to see. Word's primary purpose is to manage documents. Excel's is to manage worksheets. Access's is to manage databases. PowerPoint's is to manage presentations. On the other hand, Outlook manages many different kinds of information. The Outlook screen changes considerably as you work with the various kinds of folders. While in Outlook, you can even view non-Outlook data including Web sites.

When you click the Other Shortcuts button at the bottom of the Outlook Bar, you can display the contents of your My Computer folder, your My Documents folder to view files compatible with the Office products, and your Favorites folder to view Web sites that you have bookmarked. When you select a file or Web site from the Outlook Bar, Outlook starts your Web browser and displays the page or an Office program so that you can view and edit the file.
